Energy Management

Effective use of our energy resources has many tangible benefits.  There are the financial benefits of lower energy bills.  There are the environmental benefits of lower emissions of greenhouse gases.  And, there are the societal benefits of using only what is needed today to preserve some for the future.  A sound energy management philosophy must combine current good engineering practices for new buildings as well as improving the operation of existing facilities.

The Vermont Technical College (VTC) in Randolph includes 23 buildings spread across 544 acres. Offering associate and bachelor degree programs in more than 20 technical and related fields, VTC has played an integral role in the Vermont State Colleges educational system. Recognizing their leadership role, VTC has taken an active role in promoting the education of “green” practices, including the development of a Sustainable Design & Technology curriculum.
