Our communities rely on our Water & Waste Water staffs to develop safe, reliable and cost effective approaches to their plants. These expectations are becoming more challenging to meet. City of Burlington, Vermont
Main WWT Facility Upgrade

Hallam-ICS provided detailed electrical, instrumentation, fire alarm, HVAC and plumbing design and construction phase services for this $17 million facility upgrade. Originally constructed in 1951 and upgraded in 1974, the WWT plant had problems with combined sewage outflow into Lake Champlain during heavy rainfalls. As a result, the extended aeration treatment facility was upgraded to increase “average daily flow” capacity to 5.3 MGD and “peak daily flow” capacity to 10.6 MGD.
