Salty Chocolate Chip Cookies

"I’ve been baking with my mom for as long as I can remember. This is a recipe we’ve enjoyed making. This cookie recipe has gotten more complex as I’ve grown up and gotten better at baking!"

INGREDIENTS:

¾ cup butter

1 cup light brown sugar

¼ cup white sugar

1 egg + 1 egg yolk

1 tbls. Vanilla

1 ¾ cup flour (spooned and leveled)

¾ tsp. baking soda

8 oz. chopped chocolate

INSTRUCTIONS:

Brown the butter over low heat stirring constantly until golden. Remove from heat and pour into a bowl.

Add sugars and mix until just combined.

Add egg + yolk and vanilla, mix until smooth.

Add in flour, baking soda and salt, mix until just combined.

Add 8 oz. of chopped chocolate.

Scoop dough into 2 oz. balls and chill for a minimum of 30 minutes (the longer the better).

Bake at 350 11-12 minutes. When removed from the oven sprinkle with sea salt.
