Revit/CAD SPECIALIST

Overall Activities: We currently have an opening for a Revit/CAD Specialist in our MA, VT, or NC offices. If you are a positive, flexible, team player who enjoys variety and helping others, we have a great opportunity we’d like to talk to you about.

In this position you will work with our project teams to generate and/or manage project Revit MEP models and AutoCAD MEP files. You’ll manage project file updates, troubleshooting and drafting when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • This role requires an individual who possesses strong communication skills, both verbal and written, is highly organized, and has the willingness and ability to adjust to constantly changing priorities.

CONTROLS DESIGN ENGINEER – South Burlington, VT

Overall Activities: We currently have an opening for a Controls Design Engineer in our South Burlington, VT office. This position will involve the design of Industrial Control Panels for Semiconductor, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, and Heavy Industry clients. As a member of our team, you’ll perform the following duties:

  • Creating control panel layouts, point-to-point wiring and network architecture drawings.
  • Specifying and selecting control system hardware (PLC and HMI), control panel components, network switches, instruments, motor controls, and valves.
  • Conducting field surveys of existing facilities for retrofit projects.
  • Coordinating with clients, fellow engineers, and the control panel shop to ensure the design meets project requirements.
  • Overseeing panel fabrication and reviewing and performing quality checks of the designs of fellow engineers.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the design of Industrial Control Panels.
  • Industrial Control System (PLC and HMI) hardware, motors/motor controls and instrumentation knowledge required. Allen Bradley platform experience, a plus.
  • Familiar with designing infrastructure for industrial communication networks.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Strong computer skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD software and experience with EPLAN design software, a plus.
  • Knowledge of UL 508A, 698A and NNNY Standards, a plus.
  • Excellent communications skills.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING INTERN (Summer) – Apex, NC

Overall Activities: As a Hallam-ICS intern, you will work with experienced engineers in the design of mechanical systems for complex facilities, both large and small projects. With a focus on Dust Hazard Analyses, you will be working with engineers as they identify and mitigate combustible dust hazards in various facilities. You will also be exposed to the design practices and standards required to develop energy efficient, reliable, code compliant buildings and process systems.

It is anticipated there may be a mix of remote/ in office work with some site visits to local projects in different phases of construction. As an Intern, you will perform a variety of tasks, ranging from document management, design drawing using AutoCAD and Revit, calculations using spreadsheet software, product research and other activities while gaining exposure to different aspects of the engineering process.
