When I was a kid, I didn’t receive normal Christmas presents. Instead, my dad gave me old engines to take apart and tools to do it with. I think he mostly did it to keep me from trying to “fix” the working lawnmower, hedge trimmer, etc. I loved the challenge and the problem-solving. Diving into a problem and getting my hands dirty was one of my favorite pastimes. Engineering was a natural fit.
Throughout college majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology, I always figured I would find a job designing widgets, however after a few internships, I found I had an affinity for industrial controls and automation. It was a great mix of electrical engineering, mechanical knowledge, and problem-solving skills. I have been in the industrial automation field ever since filling multiple different roles (engineering, business development, project management, and R&D) always seeking new challenges and problems to solve.
When Keith Flaherty called with news that Hallam was planning to open an Austin office, it seemed like a perfect fit, and I wanted to be part of it. I have enjoyed building up the Austin office alongside our rockstar engineers and am excited for the future. I love working at Hallam because I feel empowered to make a difference both within the business and the community.
