It was in late high school when I realized I didn't want to be a lawyer and began considering other options. Engineering wasn't on my radar until my mom pointed out that I probably wouldn't have to spend college taking English classes and I could take mostly math and sciences. I realized that if I get to choose what I would be doing the rest of my life I should pick something that I at least didn’t mind spending time on. I fell in love with engineering, college was hard, but I was more interested in learning than ever before. I realized that mechanical engineering is a career that applies to so many industries and gives so many career options, great for someone who hadn't figured out what she wanted to do for work yet.

I had 3 internships throughout my college career; I worked with a hydroelectric power plant management company, a nuclear power plant operations company, and a corporate automotive company. Through these I learned much about what I did and didn't want in a future company. I got picky when I graduated, holding out hope that Hallam would pull my resume for an interview, it seemed a great fit. I wanted variety in my life and consulting offered that via many different projects. Through the interview process I realized it was all true. There were so many green flags that Hallam is a great place to work. Their message, giving importance to work life balance; the versatility in working on projects for different industries; the opportunity to continue learning on each project and the ability to become an employee owner in the company. This all lead to me to accepting the position and moving to Burlington, VT to begin my career as a Mechanical Engineer
