In 2018 I obtained my BS in mechanical engineering at Texas State University. Immediately after graduation I accepted a position as a mechanical and plumbing designer. I spent three years of my career designing MEP systems for the Austin area.
After some time as a designer, I took on a new opportunity as a facility engineer at an aerospace defense company named BAE systems. One year later of working diligently at BAE I was promoted to lead Facility engineer/manager. Facility engineering is great field, but I desired a better work life balance. I missed the balance of a designer. The mix of working from home on AutoCAD then getting out and visiting sites suits me well.
I received a call from CEO Keith Flaherty about a great opportunity at Hallam. The CEO interviewing every employee before hiring is a sure sign of a proactive company. My suspicions were correct. Hallam has great teamwork culture, excellent employees, great management that is willing to train, and work life balance. All these aspects are important to me while selecting a career.
I am now working as a TGMS design engineer for a new semiconductor fab being constructed in Taylor. I am one of the first employees at the Austin Texas site. I am excited to do an outstanding job on this new facility and grow the site in my hometown.
