Steve Wysocki | Senior Controls Integrator

Growing up I was always tinkering, building, and taking everything I owned apart. While studying Engineering at Southern Illinois University I was unsure how to pursue a path where the real world, electronics, and programming crossed paths. Halfway through I was introduced to micro-controllers. Seeing custom programs control real world devices by detecting the environment around them was a foundational moment. I knew what career path I wanted to take.

Upon graduation I began my career at a manufacturing company working on a broad range of controls. I quickly gained hands-on experience with PLCs, robotics, and automated assembly lines. It was an exciting beginning to my career, no longer testing in the theoretical world but in the field with moving parts.

The long and snowy winters in northern Wisconsin brought me to Raleigh, North Carolina, where I was introduced to a different side of automation, distributed controls. No longer were processes contained in a single building, they spread county and statewide. Working on power distribution and water system controls had me exploring every corner of my new home state. Programming from the top of a coastal water tower was second to none.

Continuing my journey brought me to Hallam-ICS where the company culture, people, and projects immediately stood out to me. I am looking forward to growing my career with the great teams at Hallam.
