Process Instrumentation Installation and Management
Procurement, quality inspection (to the latest ASME BPE Specification), bench testing, electrical installation, I/O checkout and NIST traceable field calibration of over 230 instruments.
Challenge
This pharmaceutical manufacturer, in partnership with CRB Engineers and Turner Construction Company completed a 15,000 square feet renovation project of the existing plant. The goal was to provide cGMP fermentation production capabilities at the 2,500 liter scale.
Turner Construction assembled a team of preferred service providers, experienced with large, fast track, projects in the Life Sciences industry. Hallam-ICS was selected as the Process Instrumentation Installation and Management supplier for our years of working experience on like projects, specific plant, process and personnel knowledge of the client’s facility, and strong working relationship with the Turner Construction team.
Solution
Hallam-ICS offered a team of metrology trained I&C technicians, electricians and pipe fitters.
Hallam-ICS utilized its own proprietary Instrument Management Database and Reporting application to record and track critical information and in-process status of each instrument. Our team accomplished:
- The procurement, quality inspection (to the latest ASME BPE Specification), bench testing, electrical installation, I/O checkout and NIST traceable field calibration of over 230 instruments.
- The quality inspection (to the latest ASME BPE Specification), bench testing, configuration, pneumatic stainless steel tube installation and I/O checkout of approximately 250 process valves.
- The assembly of a complete Electronic Turn-Over Package (ETOP) including certificates of compliance, material traceability reports, test reports and NIST calibration certificates for all instrumentation.
Results
Our team accomplished the following:
- Comprehensive Instrumentation Management: Successfully procured, quality-inspected, installed, and calibrated over 230 instruments and approximately 250 process valves, ensuring compliance with the latest ASME BPE Specification and meeting cGMP standards for 2,500-liter fermentation production.
- Efficient and Reliable Data Tracking: Utilized a proprietary Instrument Management Database and Reporting application to meticulously record and track critical information, enhancing project efficiency and ensuring accurate in-process status of each instrument.
- Complete and Verified Documentation: Delivered a fully assembled Electronic Turn-Over Package (ETOP) containing certificates of compliance, material traceability reports, test reports, and NIST calibration certificates, providing the client with traceable and verified project documentation.
