"Confikids, Inc. strives to provide opportunities for children of limited financial means to participate in enrichment activities so that they may pursue their interests and passions, develop new skills, establish new relationships, and, ultimately, build confidence."
"I’ve known Rachel Calabrese, the founder of Confikids, since around the time my kids started attending school as she worked for the town recreation dept. She started Confikids with the goal of helping kids participate in activities and programs that they might not otherwise be able to for financial reasons. They help kids in grades 1-8, living in four counties in eastern MA, and focus on activities and programs that teach a skill of some sort (e.g. karate, art, music, gymnastics, cooking, basketball, etc.).
My personal connection to Confikids came through my involvement as a director of our local youth baseball program. While we would never turn away a child from our program who was unable to pay, we know that working with Confikids, as we have been for the past several years, allows us to reach more families and get more kids involved in our program who wouldn’t be otherwise.
Knowing how Confikids has benefited kids who want to play in our small program in our small town has made me appreciate what they are doing for the greater community as a whole and makes them a great recipient of the Hallam-ICS 40 Years/40 Weeks campaign. "
