Soon after the first time I encountered Hallam-ICS, I felt like I couldn’t escape them. First, I found myself referencing a technical blog post on their website about ventilation of gas cabinets. A month or two down the road, they were hired to design the toxic gas monitoring system on a project where I was doing the MEP design. Later, Hallam was completing an arc flash analysis on another of my projects. With the Hallam name continuing to come up in my work, I decided to do a little more research. I was surprised to learn that Hallam not only did MEP design in addition to TGMS and arch flash, but also had a local office. Conveniently, I was at a point in my career where I was looking for a new opportunity to continue developing as both an engineer and a manager. I figured what better place to do that than the company I had already relied on as a technical resource.
A few conversations and interviews confirmed what I had hoped: Hallam was a hub of technical expertise in MEP design for industrial projects, placed a strong emphasis on employee well-being and accountability, and worked with many of the clients I already knew. I decided to make the jump, and I’m excited to contribute to the growth of the New York office.
