In the months leading up to my graduation from UMass Amherst in 2023, I found myself uncertain about where I wanted to begin my career. I would be earning a degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Engineering Management, but I was not particularly drawn to any one career path, whether in manufacturing, operations, or a traditional office environment. During what felt like my entire final semester, I submitted countless job applications, participated in numerous phone screenings, and traveled throughout New England for interviews. Through that process, I eventually discovered CQV and I immediately recognized that the fast-paced, dynamic nature of the industry would be an excellent fit for me, and I was eager to pursue an opportunity in the field.

I spent the first two and a half years of my career supporting and leading commissioning activities on greenfield life sciences projects in Holly Springs, North Carolina, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, two places where I had never previously lived or spent significant time. I was incredibly fortunate to work alongside outstanding mentors and supportive colleagues who helped me develop a strong understanding of the CQV process and the life sciences industry as a whole. Despite the early mornings and long days, I quickly became passionate about the projects I supported and took great pride in knowing that the work we were doing would ultimately help improve the lives of countless people. While the professional experience was rewarding, living far from home presented its own challenges. I was unable to regularly spend time with friends and family or enjoy many of the things I love, from attending Red Sox games and concerts at Fenway Park to going to beaches in Maine.

In early 2026, I received a LinkedIn message from Keith Flaherty regarding an opening on Hallam-ICS's CQV team in Mansfield, Massachusetts. What was intended to be a brief introductory call quickly evolved into an hour-long conversation about my background, education, career experiences, and professional aspirations. From that first discussion, I knew Hallam-ICS would be a great fit. I was impressed by the genuine interest Keith took in getting to know me as both a professional and an individual. It was refreshing to see a company president and CEO invest the time to learn about my experiences at UMass Amherst, my career goals, and what I hoped to accomplish in the future. As I continued through the interview process and had conversations with Keith Sheldon about his vision for the CQV team, I gained a clear understanding not only of how I could contribute to Hallam's future success, but also of how the organization would support and be invested in my own professional development and long-term growth. By the time an offer was extended, I was ready to join immediately and accepting the opportunity was an easy decision. Hallam brought me back home to Massachusetts, and I am excited to contribute to the company's continued success while growing alongside a team that shares my passion for excellence, innovation, and professional development.
