Mahana Magic

"The Mahana Magic Foundation gives back to children what their parent’s cancer has taken away. When the pandemic hit we created the Urgent Child Needs Fund. We were contacted by social workers and patient navigators with stories of families with an awful choice of paying for their medical bills or paying for winter clothing, day care or school supplies for their children. No one should have to make that choice. The Urgent Child Needs Fund lessens the stress for these families.  The demand for this fund is very high and this generous gift from Hallam-ICS will allow us to help several children and their families."

"Our immediate future plans are to start up our monthly outings for children of cancer patients. These events give children the opportunity to meet other children going through similar experiences. They get to leave the stress at home while trying something new and fun."

"Our son attended Christ the King school in South Burlington, VT. During our time there we became familiar with the Couture family. Makena and Hana were a year ahead and a year behind our son. When their dad Greg was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, he realized that his daughters were going to need support during this difficult time. Mahana Magic was born. The foundation offers support to children during and after their parent's or caregiver's battle with cancer. My family has always felt a connection to this organization. We’ve joined in their annual Monster Bash Halloween fundraising party and love the positive impact Mahana Magic  has on children who have a parent affected by cancer. Our kids are now grown, and Makena and Hana are beautiful and kind young woman. I just know the efforts of their Dad and the building of  Mahana Magic helped mold them. I’m excited to nominate this organization for Hallam-ICS’s 40 Weeks of Giving."
