My engineering path started in college. Coming out of high school, I was going to pursue a Business / Finance double major before receiving the advice, “You can really do anything with an Engineering degree” I completed UConn’s Eurotech Dual Degree program and graduated in 2022 with a BS in Electrical Engineering and a BA in German.
Throughout college I interned year-round with the company I later joined full time. In that full time role, I was a full-cycle Control Systems Engineer responsible for electrical design, drawings, wiring, programming, installation, testing, and commissioning, in addition to troubleshooting existing equipment, and a good amount of process engineering. An opportunity to improve my career and skillset presented itself and led me to take a temporary role filling in as the Interim Production Manager at their SC Facility. In that role I supervised the 24/5 operation of 5 production lines and gained hands-on experience in day-to-day manufacturing. I managed personnel development, onboarding and offboarding, production scheduling decisions, customer complaints, and overall efficiency leaning heavily on my baseline knowledge of the people, the programs, and the equipment I had worked on for years as an engineer before stepping into the role. After returning to engineering, I found myself looking for more opportunities to grow and prove my capabilities.
Keith Flaherty reached out to me on LinkedIn and presented the idea of joining Hallam-ICS and directed me to an opening in the MA office. I was hooked after seeing the opportunity to expand my controls knowledge into several different industries and develop a variety of skills, in addition to the way Hallam is run and the principles the company holds. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience and perspective to Hallam-ICS, learning from the team, and continuing to grow in this next chapter of my career.
