Shane Hamlin
Instrumentation & Controls Technician
With Hallam-ICS Since 2023
After College, I followed my passion, cooking. I worked in the food service industry for 20 years, working all over the east coast. When Covid hit, I took that tragedy and turned it into an opportunity to try some new career ventures. I took on contract work and remodeled people’s homes, which eventually led me to try my hand as an electrical apprentice. I took 2 years of electrical schooling and worked in a factory honing my electrical skills, but then our instruments technician left. When he left, the company asked me to fill his shoes, and for the past year, I honed the craft and became the lead instrument technician for that company.
I enjoyed my new career and wanted to grow my trade skills further. I found Hallam-ICS, a place I can see myself grow my career to new levels. I’m in my 4th week as an instrumentation Tech and have already learned so much. Hallam has made me feel welcome, valued, and important. I’m excited to see how far my knowledge and experience will grow during my career with Hallam, but right now, “the skies the limit.”
